AEW presented their Homecoming event this week and the night ended with a big moment where Cody Rhodes teased retirement. The crowd in Daily’s Place had a bit of a show after the cameras stopped rolling as well.

After Dynamite went off the air, Cody Rhodes continued with his plan to take off his boots, one that was interrupted by Malakai Black. He removed his second boot and tossed it to ringside before leaving.

Following the closing segment, Tony Khan then came out and thanked fans for attending the show.

Cody Rhodes is filming the Go Big Show’s second season very soon. He could be off AEW television for a bit, and this is how they are likely writing him off this time around. Stay tuned.
