It is with heavy heart that I make this post. At 2:16 today my father took his last breath on this earth. He passed comfortably, surrounded by the people that love him. Now our attention has to shift over to taking care of my mom. I want to thank everyone that sent out prayers and support for my family. I will put more information about pop out, but right now I’m kinda numb.

The Assassins were formed in the early 60s, with Tom Renesro taking on the role as the #2 Assassin in the tag team. When Renesro took to retirement from being a full-time wrestler, Hamilton recruited other wrestlers such as Randy Colley, Hercules Hernandez and Jody Hamilton Jr. to fill in his shoes.

The Assassins frequently appeared on Georgia Championship Wrestling as well as promotions from southeast & southern places. The heel tag-team often used their own masks as weapons by putting hardened objects in them in order to deliver a devastating “knockout headbutt” with them.

After being forced to retire due to a back-injury that he received during a match in the 80s. Hamilton then took to being a manager at WCW where he fulfilled many roles such as training the talent, being a heel manager on screen while being known as The Assassin as well as booking matches.

We at Ringside News deeply mourn the loss of a legend, and hope that The Assassin Jody Hamilton rests in peace.
