WWE will use extras backstage for any number of things. Sometimes extras just get to stand around to be seen backstage in a shot, but other times they can have a much more pivotal role in the show.

Retribution captured the WWE Universe’s attention when they first broke into the scene. Many fans wondered who was under those masks when the faction kept changing in number and size. It turns out that D-Von Dudley’s sons were a part of those angles.

Terrence And Terrell Hughes, TNT, are D-Von Dudley’s songs. They have made appearances for AEW, but it turns out they were also under Retribution masks early on as they revealed to Sunset Flip Radio.

“There were a lot of people there. Every week it was like 50 people. They had two different things, the Raw Underground section with people around the ring and they had RETRIBUTION. Every week was something different. One week, we jumped Titus O’Neil and Humberto (Carrillo). The next week, we jumped the ring. The next week, we just stood around in a backstage vignette for a promo. It was a bunch of random stuff because everyone is under a mask. There was really no job that we couldn’t do.”

TNT didn’t get a WWE contract out of those cameos, but you also never know how a bit part can amount to something more own the line. WWE gave up on the idea of having a Retribution stable, splitting up the faction during the Fastlane kickoff show, but odds are we haven’t seen the last of D-Von’s sons.
