AEW has a lot of things that they want to get accomplished as Tony Khan continues building the company’s creative direction. This can sometimes cause a crunch for time so things need to be sped up a little bit.

Jimmy Korderas dropped another “Reffin’ Rant” on Thursday morning where he came down on AEW for rushing their angles. He used Cody Rhodes and Malakai Black’s current angle as an example.

Korderas said that he would have stalled things a bit and waited for them to get physical. Instead, the two had a brawl and a pull-apart this week.

“It’s too soon for that. Let [Malakai Black] still cause havoc. Have the lights go out, they come back on, he takes out Cody again. This happens for several weeks because they have this kind of contact. That’s the one problem I have with AEW is they tend to rush things a little too much at times.”

Cody will likely take several weeks off from AEW Dynamite in August to film season two of The Go Big Show. It is possible that AEW is rushing Black vs Rhodes so Cody can take a hard loss and another hiatus. This was the same device they used last year to take Cody out for the Go Big Show filming as Brodie Lee squashed him for the TNT Title.

We’ll have to see what’s to come, but Malakai Black and Cody Rhodes’ direction seems to be an intense one.
