WWE is known for their big production sets and new designs are expected when RAW and SmackDown hit the road once again. They moved to LED boards and there is a very good reason for that as well. Like everything else in the company, those screens take a beating.

Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Pro Wrestling podcast tweeted out to give some information that a few fans might have wondered about. WWE decided to go with LCD panels because they are much easier to maintain due to the constant wear and tear WWE’s set goes through.

A while ago I asked someone in WWE production why the sets are all LCD screens.

He said this is a by-product of the HD Television for WWE.

These sets take a real beating with the travel and end up looking like crap quickly.

It’s much easier to maintain LCD Panels.

WWE’s sets must travel the country, and possibly the world. They also run the risk of having a Superstar launch someone through the entrance set as well. You never know what can happen in WWE. Braun Strowman did a lot of set wrecking in his day, but he is not around anymore. That doesn’t mean the set will be safe from taking damage. If anything, all that traveling isn’t good for electronics.

What’s your take of this situation? What do you think WWE’s new sets will look like? Sound off in the comments!
