Jim Cornette and Chris Jericho used to be much closer than they are today. There was a time in Smoky Mountain Wrestling when they were actually friendly with each other. Those days are in the past now.

Jericho recently fired back at critics of the Blood & Guts match. He specifically said, “There’s a couple of chicks in WWE who said some stuff and they should probably not have said that. They probably weren’t trained any better, and in 6 months they’ll probably be asking us for a job anyways and I’ll remember that, so we’ll leave it at that.”

Shotzi Blackheart and others from WWE threw a bit of shade at the conclusion of the Blood & Guts match. She could have been one of the “chicks” that Jericho was talking about. When Jim Cornette heard Le Champion’s retort, he had to interject his own 2 cents.

Looks like somebody’s grumpy about criticism again. Isn’t “chicks in WWE” a sexist remark? Some people watch for those things, you know.

We’ll have to see if Chris Jericho apologizes for his statement. The point he was trying to make had nothing to do with that, but he still used the term “chicks” anyway. Regardless, Jericho is still very proud of the Blood & Guts match, no matter how badly AEW’s production screwed up the final spot to reveal all of those cardboard boxes Jericho was falling on.
