Piper Niven debuted on WWE RAW this week and some fans threw shade at her appearance. This was quickly shut down by people like Mia Yim. Piper is now speaking for herself.

Niven saw that one fan tweeted out saying: “The amount of body shaming I’ve seen for @viperpiperniven is atrocious. No one body shames KO, Samoa Joe, Otis, etc because they don’t have the “perfect body”. She’s a talented badass. Then y’all get at us because our self esteem sucks. Wonder why?”

The new RAW Superstar, who has yet to be christened with a name on the main roster, tweeted out a response. She explained that successful big people are often met with this kind of rhetoric, because it reminds people of their own shortcomings. Obviously, body positivity is something she’s dealt with for her entire life and that’s not going to stop once she debuts on RAW.

Successful big people are often met with this because we remind people of their own shortcomings, they want to believe that success is only for the “perfect people” and that’s why they didn’t achieve their dreams and we prove them wrong. Don’t even worry about them, I don’t.

Piper Niven has a ton of support behind her. She is also the first WWE NXT UK Superstar to get a main roster call-up. We’ll have to see if more follow, but Piper Niven is going to keep doing her thing no matter what her name ends up being on the main roster.
