Cesaro is undoubtedly one of the best in-ring performers in the WWE right now and has proven time and time again why he is so talented inside the ring. Many fans and Superstars alike consider him to be underrated who has yet to be given his due.

Cesaro has finally been on the receiving end of a proper main event level push as of late and fans are certainly hopeful about his WWE future. Before this, there was a time long ago when fans also thought there were big things in store for Cesaro.

It was back in 2014 when Cesaro was being managed by Paul Heyman and fans thought Cesaro would become very successful. Unfortunately, their partnership didn’t really elevate Cesaro as fans hoped it would.

While speaking to DAZN, Cesaro talked about working with Paul Heyman and explained why it didn’t work. The interviewer noted how Heyman had commented on the topic recently and said that he was coming off of the big storyline with Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker.

Ultimately, it all went back to Lesnar and Undertaker’s storyline and Cesaro was ultimately neglected. Cesaro certainly agreed with Paul Heyman’s assessment, stating that he was ‘second fiddle’ at that point.

“I’ll say this much. I learned a whole lot from Paul, and I still do. But I agree 100 percent with Paul’s assessment because that’s 100 percent right. Paul used that opportunity to talk about Brock Lesnar and, I was second fiddle at that point. He even said that in the Talking Smack interview that he did. He said that he knows that alliance was more beneficial to him than it was for me.”

Cesaro will be facing off against Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania Backlash on Sunday, May 16th. We will have to see if WWE will pull the trigger on Cesaro or not.
