WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T is a true veteran in the pro wrestling world, having made a name for himself in WCW and WWE. Around his time the content was largely unscripted with only a few guidelines.

However, nowadays in WWE that is not the case as most Superstars are always handed a script which they have to remember and speak as part of their promos. A large section of the WWE Universe is not a fan of scripted promos as they feel it highly restricts the characters of WWE Superstars.

While speaking to Yahoo Sports, Booker T talked his work experience with scripts, stating that he is supportive of scripts, adding that Booker T will make any script good, no matter how bad it can be. Booker T also then proceeded to challenge younger WWE Superstars to make the most of their scripted environment and improve their characters, making the character what they want it to be.

“I’ve always been the guy that was all about the script. Give me the script, crappy or not, I’m going to make it good and change a few things. No matter what position I was in, mid-card, main event, whatever, it was all about going out there and getting the work done. That really started in WCW. I was a guy who would go out there and perform and rely on nothing else but my own work. There was no buddy system, no kissing up, it was all about taking whatever role it was and making it something special. That’s what I challenge these young guys to do now. Take whatever character you have and make it what you want it to be.”

Booker T would also mention how the iconic supermarket brawl with ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin was totally unscripted and worked out well. Lately some WWE Superstars are given more freedom in their promos, so we will have to see if the company will eventually be more lenient with their scripts.
