AEW presented Blood & Guts this week and fans in attendance saw that match live. The first hour of Dynamite was actually taped weeks ago, and fans got to watch that on the screens live. AEW fans in Daily’s Place still had their crowd noise used for those pretaped matches. When the time came for the main event, they had to shave a bit of time.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that some of the Blood & Guts match was edited down. The first portion with Sammy Guevara and Dax Harwood was supposed to get five minutes before other wrestlers joined the fray. They actually trimmed about a minute off that time for some reason.

“They shaved a lot of time by the way. It was actually about four minutes,” Meltzer noted of the opening portion during Blood & Guts. This was supposed to be a five-minute part, but they took about a minute off of it.

It isn’t known why AEW shaved a minute off of the opening portion of Blood & Guts. Bryan Alvarez theorized that Kenny Omega and Orange Cassidy’s segment might have gone too long. That wasn’t confirmed, but we do know that Guevara and Harwood got their time cut by about 60 seconds.
