Andrade surprised fans yet again as he showed up during AAA’s Rey De Reyes event last night. He challenged Kenny Omega for the AAA Mega Championship at TripleMania. That match wasn’t accepted yet, but it’s only a matter of time before the two will officially throw down.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed how long Kenny Omega and Andrade’s match was in the plan. Apparently, this was something that came up as soon as WWE agreed to let the former NXT Champion go.

“I don’t know if it’s official, but I have known about this match since the day Andrade was released. When he did that interview where he said that he wanted to face Kenny Omega. He said that because that match was there.”

Andrade is busy as he is now working for two rival Mexican promotions. It seems that El Idolo can pull that off. We’ll have to see if he is able to take the AAA Mega Championship from Kenny Omega in the process.
