Chris Candido passed away 16 years ago. His tragic passing was said to be caused by a blood clot in his leg following surgery, but that story eventually changed. His brother Johnny, did initially report that Candido died due to a blood clot, which was a complication from surgery. In a 2016 interview, Johnny Candido revealed that Chris died from acute pneumonia. Doctors drained his lungs, but Candido sadly passed away.

The fact is that Candido loved pro wrestling. He needed a leg surgery and was traveling too soon after his procedure, and that proved to be a fatal mistake. Although Candido is gone, he will never be forgotten.

Eddie Kingston knew Chris Candido and he still misses his friend. The AEW star sent out a heartfelt Instagram post to remember Candido as he praised him for always helping out younger wrestlers.

Still one of the best in the ring but also outside the ring. He was so giving to the younger guys and he is truly missed by everyone who has met him. RIP Chris Candido.
