Big Show was openly critical about his last appearance on RAW during Legends Night in January, but him leaving the company caught everyone by surprise.

According to Fightful Select, nobody that they spoke to knew that Big Show was on his way out of the company. There was no “chorus of goodbyes.” Instead, “higher ups” in WWE said that they found out about the situation this month.

Most of the WWE talent that we spoke with had no idea of the Big Show leaving, and said there wasn’t a chorus of “goodbyes” that they recall. Meanwhile, higher ups in WWE tell us that they became aware that he would not be remaining with the company in any capacity this month.

We’ll have to see what Paul Wight is able to do in AEW. He is being given a clean slate and he has a lot of opportunities. This is an exciting situation for him, but the roster wasn’t aware of the issues until the news broke.
