Sammy Guevara was set to arrive in Impact Wrestling to carry on his storyline where he left the Inner Circle in AEW. That angle did not come to pass as The Spanish God didn’t like their creative direction.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted some interesting aspects to this story. It was reported that Chris Jericho was the one who actually put the angle together with Don Callis. This made Jericho look bad in the eyes of Impact Wrestling because Guevara rejected the idea.

It was also reported that Impact Wrestling was pretty mad about this entire situation at first. Things have since calmed down between AEW and Impact Wrestling.

Impact was really mad about AEW sending talent over, them putting plans in place and then the talent wouldn’t do what was planned. Everything appears to be smoothed over now but there are those in Impact who said that the company was not happy at first with how it went down and could have impacted relationships. Guevara isn’t expected to be coming back here.

Sammy Guevara is not expected to get another shot at an angle with Impact Wrestling. He will likely remain off AEW television until the time comes for him to make his return, likely as a babyface to feud with the Inner Circle.

There is reportedly no heat between AEW and Guevara. Some within Impact Wrestling didn’t blame Sammy Guevara either for rejecting the company’s creative.

Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
