Sammy Guevara was set to appear for Impact Wrestling as part of the company’s partnership with AEW. That didn’t happen and controversy was sparked when Guevara was told to go home instead.

The Spanish God didn’t like the creative that Impact Wrestling had planned for him, and he suggested changes. The powers-that-be at Impact Wrestling didn’t like this so they nixed the whole angle.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer made it very clear that he heard the creative Sammy Guevara turned down was an idea that he should have debated to begin with.

“I had heard from one person at Impact, I don’t know what the creative is that he turned down, but they said that the creative he turned down was something he should turned down. He didn’t like it and they decided to do it with Black Taurus instead and they did not use Sammy.”

We’ll have to see what Black Taurus does during the next set of Impact Wrestling tapings, because that is who filled in for the Spanish God. Apparently, it was a spot that Sammy Guevara should have turned down in the first place.
