WWE sent out a company-wide message today informing staff that they are not giving out promotions, bonuses, or salary increases. This left a lot of people very unhappy around the company.
Ringside News exclusively reported that this message hit morale at the corporate office in a huge way. This is also being felt backstage at SmackDown.
According to Wrestle Votes, a ton of people are unhappy right now backstage in the company, and that includes the Superstars.
Just got a text from a source in St. Pete… the unhappiness and straight up anger backstage is at an all time high level. Everyone from the boys to the road crew are pissed off. Not a good look.
WWE Superstars weren’t even subject to the new salary freeze. They are obviously upset for those people that the company is short-changing this year. We have heard nothing about this being a permanent freeze, but employees aren’t going to get any extra pay in the foreseeable future.
