Three announcements have been made as we the card continues to take shape on the Road to WrestleMania! let’s take a look at the segments announced for tonight.

After multiple failed attempts, Dominik Mysterio will once again take on King Corbin. Corbin handily defeated Dominik last week, even though Dominik was able to get some offense in. He will look for his win over Corbin tonight.

Also on the card, Big E will defend his Intercontinental Championship against both Apollo Crews and Sami Zayn in a triple threat match. E has had run-ins with both of these men and a rivalry has been simmering between them all for weeks. It finally comes to a head tonight, and it is for the title!

Finally, the winner of the 2021 Men’s Battle Royal, Edge, will be on tonight’s show. Edge has not been seen on SmackDown in nearly decade in an in-ring capacity, but Edge will make his presence known tonight, as he could be setting his sights on the Head of the Table, Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

Opening Segment

We get a recap of Bianca Belair and Edge winning the Royal Rumble matches and both superstars will be on SmackDown tonight.

Roman Reigns’ music hits. Reigns comes out with Jey Uso and Paul Heyman. Reigns talks about how he beat Kevin Owens at the Rumble, just like he said he would.

He brings up Edge, saying that Edge now has a main event match at WrestleMania, and Roman himself is the main event. He asks calls out Edge, asking why Edge wasted time on RAW and NXT, saying Edge should be begging to fight him at the Rumble.

He calls out Edge, saying that he doesn’t like how Edge is making him wait, so he calls Edge out. Heyman calls for a stagehand to hit Edge’s music. He is told something by the stagehand and he relays the message to Roman.

Roman tells us that Edge is not here. He says that Edge is treating him like a fool and is trying to “play games with” him. He says that last person that “played games with” him was Kevin Owens, and Owens is “gone, history,” and we’ll “never see him again.”

Roman stares into the camera and says to Edge, “You’re going to give me your decision by the end of the night.” He drops his mic and he, Heyman, and Uso leave the ring.

We are told that Hulk Hogan will be on SmackDown later tonight to share his thoughts on a title match with Andre the Giant 33 years ago.

Dominik Mysterio (w/Rey Mysterio) vs. King Corbin

As Dominik and Rey are coming down to the ring, Corbin attacks them, blindsiding Dominik and tossing Rey off the stage. Corbin swaggers to the ring and we go to commercial.

*Commercial Break*

Back from commercial and Corbin goes right after Mysterio. Dominik is able to hit Corbin with a dropkick, but Corbin dunks Dominik to the apron. Dominik rolls up Corbin into a dropkick and a pinfall for two.

Corbin grabs Dominik’s leg and hits him with a spinebuster, then lays into his head with right hands. Corbin chokes Dominik against the middle rope. We see medical staff tending to Rey Mysterio to the side of the stage where Corbin threw him.

Corbin pins Dominik for two. Corbin hits Dominik with right elbows, then locks in a chokehold. Dominik fights to his feet and hits Corbin with a few elbows, but Corbin takes Dominik down with a spinning back elbow.

Corbin taunts Dominik with driving a knee into Dominik’s jaw and upper chest. Dominik fights to his feet and dunks Corbin over the top to the outside. Dominik hits a springboard dive to Corbin on the outside.

Rey struggles to get to his feet and hobbles to ringside to be there to support his son as we go to commercial.

Back from commercial and Corbin is going for a vertical suplex. Doiminik escapes and hits a standing moonsault on Corbin, covering him for two. Corbin goes for a chokeslam, but Dominik escapes and rolls up Corbin for two.

Corbin runs at Dominik and Dominik trips him up into the middle rope. Dominik goes for a 619, but Corbin catches him in a Deep Six, covering him for two. Corbin drags Dominik into the corner and Dominik dumps Corbin to the outside.

Dominik hits a dive to Corbin on the outside. We see Rey Mysterio crawling under the ring to the opposite side. Rey Mysterio grabs Corbin’s leg, preventing him from following Dominik into the ring. Dominik hits Corbin with a 619, then pins him for the victory.

Winner: Dominik Mysterio

We get a recap of the match between Big E and Apollo Crews that was interrupted by Sami Zayn.

Big E is interviewed backstage. Kayla Braxton asks him how he prepared for his match tonight. He says that he knew what he was doing when he became Intercontinental Champion and he is ready for a fight.

Daniel Bryan comes down to the ring for a match against Cesaro after a commercial break.

*Commercial Break*

Daniel Bryan vs. Cesaro

Cesaro and Bryan lock up immediately. Bryan kicks at Cesaro and they trade uppercuts. Bryan kicks Cesaro in the arm, then in the chest before dumping him to the outside.

Bryan climbs to the top rope and hits a diving crossbody to Cesaro to the outside. Bryan tosses Cesaro back in the ring and hits a missile dropkick to Cesaro in the ring.

Bryan picks up Cesaro and Cesaro tries to rake the eyes. Bryan blocks. Cesaro geos for a Very European Uppercut, but Brayn blocks and backslide Cesaro into the pinfall attempt for two.

Shinsuke Nakamura is watching the match backstage. Bryan rolls up Cesaro into a Yes Lock. Cesaro gets out and strikes at Bryan then goes for a corkscrew uppercut. Bryan catches him and kicks Cesaro in the head, pinning him for two.

Bryn stomps away at Cesaro’s head. Bryan sets up for the running knee, but Cesaro catches him into a backbreaker. Cesaro swings Daniel Bryan around and then locks in the Sharpshooter. Bryan taps out.

Winner: Cesaro

Cesaro celebrates his win over Bryan and then sees Bryan sitting in the corner. Cesaro approaches Bryan and offers his fist for a fist bump. Bryan fist bumps him and Cesaro walks out of the ring.

We get a recap of Bianca Belair winning the Royal Rumble match.

Kayla Braxton interviews Belair backstage. We see a video of Bianca’s parents celebrating her victory on Instagram. Braxton asks her who she will face at WrestleMania. She says that this is the biggest decision of her life and she will be ready for her decision soon.

Bayley comes out and she will be live on SmackDown after the commercial break.

*Commercial Break*

Back from commercial and we get a video package hyping up the return of Seth Rollins next week.

Ruby Riott (w/Liv Morgan) vs. Bayley

Billie Kay is on commentary. Bayley tosses Ruby around. Ruby hits Bayley with a kick and pins her for two.

Riott picks up Bayley and Bayley tosses Riott into the corner. Bayley catches Ruby and lawn darts her into the top turnbuckle. Bayley lays into Ruby and hits her with an elbow drop, pinning her for two.

Bayley continues to focus on Ruby’s shoulder. Riott gets to her feet and shoves Bayley into the corner. She catches Bayley shoves her face-first into the middle turnbuckle.

Riott hits an armdrag onto Bayley. Bayley geos for a belly to belly suplex, but Ruby counters and pins her for two. Bayley locks in a submission on Riott, but Billie Kay tries to help.

She distracts Ruby Riott and Bayley catches Ruby, slamming her face first into the mat. She pins Ruby for three.

Winner: Bayley

Bianca Belair is live next, right after a commercial break.

*Commercial Break*

Edge has arrived and he is walking backstage. He passes by Sonya Deville and gives her a fist bump as he continues on his way.

Bianca Belair comes out. Belair gets on the mic and says that choosing her opponent for WrestleMania is a big decision. She names Asuka and Sasha Banks as two of her options.

Before she can make her announcement, Carmella’s Reginald comes down to the ring. He says that he wants to offer advice to Bianca. He says that she could beat Asuka, but he says that Bianca couldn’t beat Sasha or Carmella.

Carmella’s music comes out. Carmella says that she beat Sasha in her very first match against her, meaning that she “beat Sasha Banks twice.” She says that she could do the same to Bianca.

Sasha Banks’s music hits. Sasha comes out and says that she is going to start focusing on the road ahead. She says that Bianca has her attention.

She says that she has been watching her and she saw her pick up Otis and chase down Bayley, so while she may be the “strongest” and “fastest” but she isn’t the best and says that Bianca should choose her.

Bianca starts to respond, but Reginald steps between them. He tells Bianca that she will lose if she chooses Sasha. She attacks Reginald with her hair, sending him retreating out of the ring.

Roman Reigns is backstage with Jey. Heyman shows up and tells Roman that Edge is here.

*Commercial Break*

Back from commercial, Kayla Braxton is interviewing Sami Zayn backstage. he continues to push the conspiracy theory against him, but he says that he will reclaim his Intercontinental Championship tonight.

Otis and Chad Gable vs. Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler

Gable and Ziggler will start. The Street Profts are providing commentary somehow, but they are not at the commentary desk.. Gable takes Ziggler off his feet and goes after Ziggler’s wrist.

Ziggler fights back and hits Gable with a dropkick. He tags in Robert Roode and tosses Gable into Roode’s shins. Roode hits Gable with a knee to the midsection and hits a suplex on Gable, pinning him for two.

Roode locks in a headlock. Gable fights to his feet and goes for an ankle lock, but Roode escapes. Gable tags in Otis who hits Roode with a suplex and tosses around Ziggler.

He hits Ziggler with a discus clothesline and splashes onto Roode in the corner. Otis hits Roode with a caterpillar. Gable tags in but Ziggler takes Otis off the apron and then attacks Gable. Roode pins Gable for the win.

Winners: Bobby Roode and Dolph Ziggler

Hulk Hogan’s recap of his match against Andre the Giant after a commercial.

Back from commercial, Michael Cole tosses to a recap of Hulk Hogan defending his WWF World Heavyweight Champion against Andre the Giant 33 years ago.

We get a video recap of the match and then hear from Hulk Hogan himself. He transitions to speaking about how Edge has the opportunity to take on either Roman Reigns or Drew McIntrye and says that, no matter who Edge chooses, his opponent will be in big trouble.

Apollo Crews and Big E come down to the ring to get ready for their match, which will be right after a commercial break.

*Commercial Break*

Backstage, Edge is talking to Shinsuke Nakamura.

Intercontinental Champion Big E vs. Apollo Crews vs. Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship

Zayn ducks out of the ring early and Apollo rolls up Big E for one. Big E takes Crews down with an elbow. Zayn gets back in the ring and attacks Big E, who hits him with a back body drop.

Crews hits Big E with 3 German suplexes and pins him for two. Zayn comes in and attacks Apollo. Crews hits Zayn with a clothesline. Crews hits a splash on Zayn and Big E, but Big E avoids a secon splash.

Big E hits Zayn with a splash and goes to hit a spear through the ropes on Crews. Zayn grabs Big E’s foot, stopping him. Crews hits a dive onto Zayn and Big onto the outside.

Crews hits a moonsault onto Big E from the apron. Zayn blindsides Crews, taking him out with a flying clothesline from the steel steps.

*Commercial Break*

Zayn is in the ring with Big E. Zayn chokes Big E against the middle ropes. Crews gets to the apron, but Zayn knocks him down. Zayn trips Big E into the middle rope and goes for a Blue Thunder Bomb.

BIg E blocks and Crews hits Zayn with a dropkick. Big E tosses Apollo Crews around with belly to belly suplexes. Zayn jumps on Big E’s back Big E tosses him down.

Big He hits a running splash onto both Zayn and Crews. He picks up Crews and Crews hits Big E with an enziguri. Crews runs at Big in the corner, but Big E dumps Crews over the top to the outside.

Zayn runs at Big E and Big E hits Zayn with a ura nage, pinning him for two. Big E hits a splash onto Zayn on the apron. Crews hits a dropkick onto Big E, the goes into the ring and hits a frog splash onto Sami Zayn in the ring, pinning him for two.

Crews runs at Sami and goes for a fisherman’s suplex. Big E runs in and catches Apollo around the waist, hitting both men with a suplex.

Apollo rolls out of the ring and Zayn stands on the apron. Big E goes for a spear to Zayn, but Zayn gets a knee up. Zayn hits a Big E with a helluva kick. Zayn pins Big E, but Apollo Crews pulls him off of Big E before the three count.

Zayn picks up Crews and Crews lays into Zayn. He picks up Zayn and tosses him hard into the timekeeper’s area. Crews gets in the ring and Big E hits Crews with a Big Ending, pinning Crews for the win.

Winner: Big E

Edge is backstage walking and he is live next, after a commercial break.

*Commercial Break*

Edge comes out to the ring. He says that, while he was going through rehab, he dreamed of coming back to WWE, wining the Royal Rumble, and main-eventing WrestleMania.

He says that he wants to take back what he never lost, referencing the fact that he had to relinquish the World Heavyweight Championship a decade ago. Edge asks who he should challenge, naming Drew McIntyre, Finn Balor, and Roman Reigns.

He talks about how he has heard different commendations from everyone. Before he can continue, Roman Reigns’ music hits. Roman, Jey Uso, and Paul Heyman come down to the ring.

Edge is trying to keep an eye on both Jey Uso and Roman Reigns as they enter the ring. Paul Heyman grabs a mic and they stand across from Edge in the ring.

Edge jokes about the fact that Roman “had to bring backup.” Paul Heyman hands him the mic. Roman jokingly responds that Heyman won’t make a move on Edge.

Edge says that he is already in Roman’s head. Roman says that he’s “got this,” so Jey Uso and Paul Heyman leave the ring. Roman tells Edge to acknowledge him as the main event of WrestleMania. He wants Edge to say his name.

Edge backs up and Owens runs into the ring from behind, hitting a Stunner on Roman. Owens immediately leaves the ring and walks to the back. Edge smiles and also leaves the ring as SmackDown goes off the air.
