Charlotte Flair is Ric Flair’s daughter, but she entered the WWE Performance Center system without any previous pro wrestling training. She had to learn from scratch to become a stand-out on her own. There are still some people who are critical of all the opportunities she receives.

While speaking to Yahoo Sports, The Queen addressed those people who are critical of her taking so many big spots. She made clear that she worked very hard to earn those opportunities.

Charlotte Flair also made the point that she will take any spot she is given, because “who in their right mind wouldn’t” take them when they are offered?

“It’s almost like you get into the business and say you don’t want to be world champion,” Flair said. “You don’t get into the business saying that. You might not like the sports team that’s always making the championships, but that shouldn’t discredit the person. I got to a point where I wondered if I should apologize to people. If someone else was getting these opportunities would they feel sorry for me?”

“[Critics] don’t know the time I’ve put into what I’m doing. Damn right I’m going to take every opportunity. Who in their right mind wouldn’t take these opportunities just so they can make these people feel better? I have to tell myself that sometimes.”

Charlotte Flair’s return saw her pick up the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles on her first night back. That was a big spot for her to be in and she will continue that momentum. It obviously doesn’t matter what her critics think about her because The Queen will never turn down a big chance to perform in the spotlight.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
