Roman Reigns and Goldberg should have thrown down at WrestleMania 36, but the pandemic got in the way. You never know if they will circle back around to that idea, but right now the two are busy with different opponents at the Royal Rumble.

While speaking to Ryan Satin, Roman Reigns was asked about his spear. He broke his own spear down as being theatrical, trying to leap through the air like Superman. He also found a way to shade Goldberg a bit because fans always tell him that his spear isn’t like the former WCW Champions’.

“There’s this big debate about the Spear, like ‘oh you don’t do it like Goldberg’… that’s because I’m a really good performer. You know what I mean? I do it like I do it. So, I do a launch for that aesthetic. I’m not trying to like on the gridiron. If I wanted to do that I could. If I want to push someone’s organs through their spine, I can do that, you know. It’s no problem, easy. 6-foot-3, 265, I’d run through your ass, but I try to launch it and make it look as Superman-esk as possible. Like I’m flying, darting through the air.”

Goldberg will take on Drew McIntyre at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view for the WWE Title. Roman Reigns will defend his Universal Title against Kevin Owens in a last man standing match. We’ll have to see what kind of interesting situation we come to at the show of shows, especially if we end up with a champion vs champion situation.
