Daniel Bryan is a deep thinker, and sometimes those thoughts can get away from him. He recently shared a term and wondered if he is actually guilty of thinking that way.

Bryan, who is thought to be in a great position to receive a WrestleMania main event match, tweeted out the definition for “motivated reasoning.” Essentially this is the act of only picking facts that support your argument. He then wondered if this act of lying to himself to boost his own agenda is something that he actually does.

Motivated Reasoning: the tendency to cherry-pick facts that support conclusions and beliefs we’re vested in maintaining.

“Self-deception allows one to behave self-interestedly while, at the same time, falsely believing that one’s moral principles were upheld.”

Do I do this?!

There are a lot of differing opinions being shared all around the internet right now. Some of them deal with pro wrestling, but others have a much different intention. We’ll have to see if this introspection helps Daniel Bryan realize something greater within himself. It was still a very interesting tweet.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
