WWE released a lot of people from the company on April 15th. They furloughed plenty as well, and Gerald Brisco was a part of those furloughs. He would later receive a personal phone call from Vince McMahon to let him know that he is no longer needed.

While speaking to Wrestling Inc, Gerald Brisco revealed that WWE asked his permission to shoot a segment with Bray Wyatt on his property. This came after his WWE firing. Brisco expected Bruce Prichard and Bray Wyatt to show up, but Vince McMahon surprised him with a visit as well.

“It didn’t shock me that Bruce was coming over because Bruce is my brother, but it did shock me that Vince would take the time out of his schedule after flying all the way down from Connecticut, going through all the protocols and everything that you got to go through, get in the car and drive another hour and a half, come over and visit me for an hour and a half.”

Vince McMahon obviously cares about Gerald Brisco, but WWE had moved on and apparently didn’t need the man with over 3 1/2 decades of experience in the company. Vince McMahon showing up was certainly unexpected, and he went through a lot of effort to make it happen.
