WWE SmackDown put more pieces together for Survivor Series this week, but they were missing a big piece backstage. Vince McMahon was not at tonight’s tapings.

Ringside News has learned that The Chairman was absent today for SmackDown. It’s unknown where he was, or what he was busy doing. Obviously, the show must go on.

A member of the team informed us that Bruce Prichard ran the show backstage. Ed Koskey and Ryan Callahan led the show’s creative end this week.

Kevin Dunn handled the production side in McMahon’s absence. McMahon might have been absent, but he was still there in spirit, and in his decision making. He was on the phone and “everything flowed through Vince” all day.

This isn’t the first time in recent memory that Vince McMahon missed a television event. Triple H wasn’t around to run things as he had been in the past.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
