Daniel Bryan and Edge are both members of the writing team in WWE. They have the ability to weigh in and pitch ideas, and they don’t have to make it to Stamford in order to do so. Bryan’s input has apparently seen a few people get their pushes on television.

Ringside News exclusively reported the extent that Bryan and Edge have in the writing process. That input has given Bryan the ability to pull for WWE to utilize their undercard a bit more on SmackDown.

Gran Metalik’s match against AJ Styles was reportedly largely thanks to Daniel Bryan pulling for him. The fatal four-way match that proceeded it with Metalik, Lince Dorado, Shorty G, and Drew Gulak was also part of Daniel’s influence according to Wrestling News.

“Bryan pitches a lot of his own ideas,” a WWE source said. “Sometimes Vince [McMahon] and Bruce [Prichard] will turn down an idea but a lot of the things he has pitched have been used on TV.”

Daniel Bryan’s creative influence backstage has apparently been accepted on the creative end. We’ll have to see what he suggests next as the exposure he is helping other Superstars get could help them rise to that next level.
