Kurt Angle’s final run with WWE was exciting, but it cold have been more. He now looks back at that stint in WWE as a time when Vince McMahon might not have seen him as the most reliable.

Angle suffered a slew of injuries in his pro wrestling career before making his WWE return. Mounting injuries was a huge reason why Kurt Angle left the company in the first place.

While speaking to Instinct Culture, Kurt Angle explained that Vince McMahon saw him as a liability during his last run. He was previously addicted to painkillers and had a lot of injuries holding him back. This idea just never left Vince McMahon’s brain long enough to book Angle differently.

“It didn’t go the way I wanted it to. Vince McMahon had an idea for me, I think he was looking at me as a liability, someone that was addicted to painkillers, someone that broke his neck 5 times. So, I think Vince didn’t have the same idea I did. I wanted to get a title run when I came back.”
