WWE went through a big backstage shift when Paul Heyman was fired from his position as executive director of RAW. Vince McMahon decided to change his mind about who he wants to push on television. He’s saying something completely different.

Since Paul Heyman was removed from his position plenty of plans were nixed or changed around. NXT call-ups were left in limbo. Dominik Dijakovic was even brought back to NXT for another run.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that despite Vince McMahon saying that he wants to push new Superstars he’s obviously doing something much different.

What is notable is that Vince McMahon actually has said that since Mania is over and with a lot of guys missing due to COVID and other reasons, that this is the time where they have to make new stars, which seems to contradict most of what the actual creative is doing

We’ll have to see what Vince McMahon has planned, but his strategy of only pushing established Superstars won’t work forever. He’ll eventually need to make new stars if WWE wants to prepare for their future.

NXT is creating Superstars, but their success isn’t guaranteed on the main roster for various reasons. Vince McMahon apparently wants to make stars, but he has a strange way of doing it.
