The entire world was shaken to its core when COVID-19 hit and paused everything. Pro wrestling was carrying on full steam toward the most important season of the year when WrestleMania was torn away as well.

Mania’s relocation and the fact that it wasn’t “cancelled” meant that some companies were screwed. EVOLVE was apparently in that boat as The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports.

In recent weeks there has reportedly been a lot of talk about EVOLVE selling their tape library to WWE. There are some “major financial issues” which is no secret. That being said, nixing WrestleMania might have been too much for EVOLVE to take.

It’s not a secret Evolve had major financial issues and the canceling of WrestleMania week was catastrophic to them. They’ve been quiet, having not said anything. There were reports of them selling their tape library and pretty much everything to WWE but when asked, neither Evolve nor WWE would confirm or deny the story

A lot of current WWE and NXT Superstars came through EVOLVE like Austin Theory, Matt Riddle, and so many more. EVOLVE helped bring a lot of great talent to WWE’s radar as well.

WWE and EVOLVE have worked together in the past. We will have to see how this situation plays out because WWE might need to step in and help or they will lose a valuable connection.
