WWE’s television viewership has diminished to below 2 million fans a week. This huge decline can be blamed on a lot of things. The world is full of pandemic fears, political strife, and other concerns of the unknown. One factor a lot of fans point to is the poor quality of WWE’s creative storylines.

During PW Insider Elite audio, Mike Johnson revealed that he asked a few people within WWE about the company’s current television product. He was told time and time again that Vince McMahon is still the one in charge.

Everyone in WWE is doing their best, but the show that is presented on television is exactly what Vince McMahon envisions it to be.

“A lot of people have said that if there is one person to blame for the show it’s gotta be Vince McMahon. I spoke to a lot of people in the last week and said, ‘why do you think the show is just there and it’s just sorta just kinda wandering and there’s not a lot of excitement to it and not a lot of spark and three different people said to me: ‘The show you are seeing is the show Vince McMahon wants you to see.'”

“So, that’s pretty much how it goes. Vince gets the credit when something is good and when something isn’t so great Vince has to take the blame even when he doesn’t want to take the blame.”

Vince McMahon takes a lot of credit for things, both good and bad. WWE’s Chairman has experienced quite a bit of bad luck recently, but he’s not the only one. The past few months have been hard on a lot of people.
