Nyla Rose has been fighting her entire life. Now that she’s AEW Women’s World Champion that fight is only getting harder. It’s a good thing she’s tough enough.

While speaking to Talk Is Jericho, Nyla Rose addressed the negativity that she encounters as a transgender female. It is a daily battle dealing with haters. She also discussed the double standard that fans display when they don’t seem to have as much of an issue with intergender matches.

“I think there’s a lot of misconceptions and a lot of people conflate their personal feelings with actual facts. Especially with us being in wrestling, because you look online, anytime I do anything, if I tweet I woke up in the morning, it’s going to be a negative thread, anytime I do anything, people have everything in the world to say about it.”

“They don’t keep that same energy for straight up intergender matches, I never see the hate, it’s always, ‘Oh, beat her ass, get her!’ And I’m like, ‘Wait a minute, wait a minute, hold up, where’s the same energy? Ya’ll are protesting me, but here’s a man, born as a man, wrestling as a man, wrestling a woman and ya’ll are absolutely OK with that.”

Nyla Rose will face her first challenger for the AEW Women’s World Title as Kris Statlander goes for the gold at Revolution. Rose will likely never make everyone happy, but it’s also impossible to do that in any situation no matter who you are.
