WWE held a Symphony Of Destruction match on WWE Friday Night SmackDown. This was a rather brutal musical-themed match without explanation and Shinsuke Nakamura was busted open which required several staples.

During Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez brought up the fact that Shinsuke Nakamura wasn’t the only man who left that match worse for wear.

“Well, [Nakamura] was bleeding everywhere and got stitches. You know that all four of the guys in that match — I don’t wanna say hurt — but, banged up — maybe I can say hurt, but not injured I forget what the terminology is. All four guys had something bad happen to them in that stupid match.”

Gimmick matches can sometimes be unpredictable. They’re introducing things into the equation that aren’t normally used so they don’t know how to do things safely. A baby grand piano was certainly not created for someone to get slammed on. Maybe WWE will eventually learn their lesson.
