Welcome to Ringside News’ live results coverage for WWE Raw on February 17th.
Tonight’s WWE Raw will feature a huge No Holds Barred match between Randy Orton and Matt Hardy. Last week Orton attacked Matt and this week the veteran looks for revenge. There is a strong chance this is Matt’s last WWE match though, because his contract is up in less than two weeks! If it is, let’s hope it’s a barn burner.
Elsewhere tonight, Rusev will team with Humberto Carrillo to face Angel Garza and Bobby Lashley. This seems like a weirdly thrown-together match but perhaps it would be less painful than splitting it into two separate segments.
Beyond those two matches, we know Becky Lynch will talk about Shayna Baszler’s heinous attack last week, meanwhile Seth Rollins will deliver a sermon of sorts. And that’s about all we know for this week’s Raw. We’ll have live results here from 8 PM EST, and don’t forget to follow us on Instagram and Twitter. Enjoy the show!
Monday Night Raw from Washington opens with The Viper, Randy Orton coming to the ring.
Orton points to the Titantron and we see a replay of last Monday, when he was interrupted by Matt Hardy, whom he then battered. We’re back live and the fans are booing loudly. Orton says he’s supposed to face Matt Hardy in a No Holds Barred match tonight, but after what happened last week that isn’t going to happen. He says he understands Matt is in the back trying to get medically cleared but it’s no happening. Orton says The Hardy’s are known for climbing to the highest of highs and crashing to the lowest lows. But even so, if he faces him tonight…
Matt comes out wearing a neck brace and tells Orton to stop talking about him and address why he attacked Edge. Hardy says Orton didn’t like when he pressed him on that issue last week, so he wanted to make him feel the same way Edge felt. Hardy says he wants to fight Randy but the doctor’s won’t let him. But just like Edge, he has grit. Matt Hardy will not die. And he can promise Randy this; he doesn’t know what the future holds, but it damn sure won’t be determined by Randy Orton.
Randy says he should have said goodbye last week when he could have left on his own two feet. Matt gets into the ring and Orton asks him what he’s going to do. Orton says he’s a sitting duck, there’s nothing he could do if he wanted to RKO him. Orton says Matt has balls but nobody will ever understand why he did what he did. He says he respects Matt from the bottom of his heart, and Edge, he loves him like a brother. Orton says he is sorry, truly sorry, then drops the mic and leaves the ring.
Orton walks up the ramp but stops on the stage and takes his vest off. He turns around and Matt grabs a chair from ringside. Orton stalks his way back down to the ring and slowly pulls himself up on the apron, while Matt stands a few feet away with the chair. Matt swings and Orton ducks it, then yanks him down on the top rope by the neck. Orton slides into the ring and watched Matt struggle to his feet, before hitting an RKO.
Orton lifts the chair and beats Matt with it repeatedly, including digging the edge into his ribs. He then grabs a second chair from the timekeeper’s area and takes it into the ring. He puts Matt’s head on one of the chairs, removes his neck brace, then lifts the chair but stops. He looks around at the fans as they chant yes, then throws the chair down and leaves the ring. However he’s not done.
Orton runs around and drags Matt from the ring. “Randy’s gonna kill you” chant picks up. Orton removes the top half from the steel steps and drags Matt onto the bottom half and talks to him. Orton grabs the chair and hits a Con-Chair-To on the steps! Randy sits on the chair for a minute, before throwing it away, while referees check on Hardy. He comes back once more and hits another Con-Chair-To, then shouts that he’s sorry at Matt.
We see a lnghty replay of Orton’s attack on Matt Hardy.
Erick Rowan makes his entrance, bird box in hand, followed by his opponent, Aleister Black. This is a rather exciting match-up!
The bell rings and Black hits Rowan with a running knee. Rowan tosses him to the apron, then Black pulls the rope down to send Erick to the floor. Black dodges a swipe from Rowan and attempts a moonsault from the apron but nobody’s home. Rowan wipes out black with a flying crossbody on the floor as we head to the break.
Back live and Black is just laying hands into Rowan. The big man sends Black into the ropes and throws him up in the air for a powerslam and a two-count. Rowan delivers two elbow drops, then throws Black to the corner and beats him down.
Rowan slides from the ring and whips Black into the barricade, then drops him on it leg-first so Black flips backwards onto the floor. Rowan lifts Black in a powerbomb position but Aleister reverses with a hurricanrana into the ring post! Black slides into the ring to break the referee’s count, then hits a moonsault from the apron to the floor.
He don’t care about it looking pretty.
Black gets Rowan in the ring and delivers a series of kicks, followed by a switch knee for a two-count. Black swings for Black Mass but Rowan grabbed it! Rowan swings him around and looks for the Iron Claw Chokeslam but Black swipes him away. Black delivers a few shots but Rowan shoves him back and connects with a big boot. Rowan lands a jackknife powerbomb for a near-fall.
Rowan attempts the Iron Claw again but Black lands on his feet and hits Black Mass! Rowan fell onto the ropes and stumbles around the ring. Black screams and hits another for the win!
Charlotte Flair will be live on Raw after the break to explain her decision to face Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania.
Charlotte Flair comes to the ring and says last night she was in Portland for NXT TakeOver. We then see footage of Flair’s attack on Rhea Ripley following her win over Bianca Belair. The fans start chanting NXT and she asks if we want to know why they chant that? She says “that’s what I thought” when there’s silence.
Charlotte says Rhea Ripley confronted her, then last night she went to watch her compete and she was impressed. She says that got her thinking back on her time in NXT; training in a warehouse and fighting tooth and nail to make NXT the third brand of WWE. And what irritates her is the entitlement that the current NXT roster has.
Flair says that’s the current women in NXT do not know the struggle the likes of her went through, scratching and clawing to get respect. And now Ripley holds the title that put her on the map and she has the audacity to challenge her. She says Rhea is good, very very good but there’s an old saying: “pride cometh before the fall.” And at WrestleMania she will humble Rhea Ripley. Flair finishes by saying you’re always the next big thing…until you’re not. Wooooo!
The bell rings and Mojo attacks Moss in the corner. Truth then drops Rawley and he rolls from the ring. Moss throws Truth to the corner and beats him down. Moss lifts Truth and throws him in the air before clubbing him down in mid-air.
Moss attempts a pinfall on Truth but Mojo pulls him from the ring and tosses him into the barricade. Mojo gets back in the ring but R-Truth hits Rawley with John Cena’s shoulder tackles, the back suplex, and a Five Knuckle Shuffle. Truth attempts the Attitude Adjustment but Rawley counters with a slam. Moss runs in and rolls-up Mojo for the pinfall!
After the match, Mojo attacks Truth but the multi-time Champion turns the tables on him and hits the spinning kick.
Next on Raw, MVP is back in action against Drew McIntyre.
Drew McIntyre makes his entrance. He says he wants to point at the sign but Charlotte already did that. He wants to do one better, so he asks the fans to join him in pointing at the WrestleMania sign. McIntyre says he wants to give a geography lesson, and explain that Suplex City can be found within Claymore Country. And at WrestleMania he will invade Suplex City and burn it to the ground, then walk out as the WWE Champion.
Paul Heyman comes out onto the stage and introduces himself, then pretends that Brock Lesnar is coming out but smiles and says of course he isn’t here. He just wanted everyone to know what it will sound like when he is announced “and still…”. Heyman says he can point at the sign too, and that WrestleMania is where Brock Lesnar will retain his title.
McIntyre says Paul can keep saying Brock’s name over and over, including after Drew McIntyre kicks his head off and takes the WWE Championship. Heyman says he has profound respect for Drew and he didn’t come here tonight to debate him. He’s actually a huge admirer of his talents. But there’s a man he knows who isn’t a fan of his talents, and it is a man with a genuine grievance with Drew…MVP!
MVP walks to the ring and says Heyman may not have an issue with Drew, but he does. He says they were old friends and he treated him like an elite level VIP. And how did Drew repay him? McIntyre says he knows this one, he kicked his head off! MVP says McIntyre think’s he’s Billy Connolly. What he actually did was hit him with a cheap shot, but that won’t happen this week. He asks the referee to ring the bell but then MVP cheap shots Drew!
The bell rings and McIntyre drops MVP with a big boot right away. McIntyre lifts him and rips the tape off his nose, then batters him in the corner. Drew whips MVP to the corner but eats an elbow as he runs at him. MVP gets caught with a Future Shock DDT, then McIntyre takes to the corner and counts down to the Claymore Kick!
We see a replay of last week when Becky Lynch defeated Asuka in a title match, but was then viciously attacked by Shayna Baszler. The RAW Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch, makes her entrance with a brown paper bag in hand.
We’re back live with Becky Lynch in the ring with a paper bag. She says she’s felt a lot of things in the past week. She came to the U.S.A to seek fame and fortune and she realised she has no need for fame. However she does know what to do with her fortune. Lynch opens the paper bag and pulls out $100 bills, and says that’s her paying her inevitable fines up front.
She says only animals go for the neck and it’s an attempt to weaken prey before ending them. She screams at Baszler to look at the “pretty face of the longest-reigning RAW Women’s Champion”. Does she look like prey? She says she has faced a murderer’s row of competitors, and she did it because she felt she had to. But with Shayna Baszler, she wants to face her.
Shayna appears on the screen and says Becky is lugging around a bag of cash for something she’ll never get to do. Baszler says that she has to compete in Elimination Chamber in order to face Becky at WrestleMania. Elimination Chamber is a cage and she’s a cage fighter, so it’s all set-up perfectly for her to be the one to take Lynch’s title. She says she will chew through the competition at Elimination Chamber, and Becky of all people knows how that feels. But if it makes Becky feel any better, she didn’t plan on biting her, she just did it. So just imagine the things she does have planned. “Becky….I’m gonna tear the shit out of you.”
Rusev makes his entrance ahead of a tag team match with Humberto Carrillo.
The match begins with Carrillo and Lashley. Humberto sends Lashley to the corner and attacks him but Lashley turns the tables with a shoulder tackle. Lashley slams Carrillo into the turnbuckles and tags Angel Garza.
Garza goes to work on his cousin and chops his chest. Carrillo comes back with a springboard headbutt, then hits a high-flying arm-drag, then another. Garza drops Humberto with a front dropkick, then rips his pants off and throws them at Rusev. Garza leaves the ring and a fan kisses him on the cheek but he turns around to a suicide dive from Carrillo!
Back live and Garza kicks the back of Carrillo before tagging Lashley. Carrillo counters Lashley and hits a springboard crossbody but Lashley catches him. They exchange reversals until Carrillo tags Rusev.

Lashley comes in but Rusev beats him into the corner until Garza rolls him up for a near-fall. Rusev swings a kick but misses and Garza connects with a superkick.
Carrillo comes in and sends Carrillo from the ring for a twisting plancha. Then Lashley comes out of nowhere with a huge spear to Humberto. Lashley then gets floored by Rusev. After the match, Rusev attacks Angel Garza and throws him over the ropes. Rusev and Lashley share a staredown.
Natalya comes to the ring and we see a replay of two weeks ago when Asuka kicked her in the face and gave her a black eye. Asuka and Kairi Sane make their entrance and make fun of Natalya’s eye. Asuka says she will beat everyone, including Natalya at Elimination Chamber, and go on to WreslteMania, easy peasy.
The bell rings and they lock-up and Natalya takes control. They exchange until Kairi leaps over her from the corner, then performs a little dance. That just angers Nattie, who slaps her in the face and hits a stalling suplex. Natalya attempts a Sharpshooter but Sane squirms under the ropes to break the hold.
Sane uses the referee to his a cheap shot to Natalya and apply a sleeper hold. Natalya breaks free and kicks Sane, but Kairi whips her into the buckles. Kairi marches to the corner and runs at Natalya but gets dropped with a discus elbow and a near-fall. Sane rolls-up Natalya for a two-count, then attempts a dropkick but gets caught.
Natalya looks for a Sharpshooter but Asuka gets on the apron to prevent it. Natalya gets on the apron and exchanges a shot with Kairia and she falls to the floor. Asuka drops Nattie with a big kick to the head and the referee counts her out.
After the break, Seth Rollins delivers his first ever sermon.
We’re back live and Buddy Murphy is standing at a pulpit, flanked by Akam and Rezar. He introduces the man who single-handedly saved Monday Night Raw, Seth Rollins. The Monday Night Messiah comes out in his furry jacket and his new Titantron is his stained glass image, on his way to the ring he shakes hands with fans like The Pope. I think he’s growing the beard out and I gotta say, I’m loving this gimmick.
Seth stands at the pulpit and thanks the fans for making him the Monday Night Messiah. Seth says he didn’t come up with the term sermon for this segment, he just wanted a few minutes to talk to the fans. However a sermon is appropriate because what he has to say is divine. Seth says we are gathered here tonight to celebrate progress, the future, and moving forward through his vision.
Rollins says that phase one of his movement featured some resistance but it was completed last week when they beat Samoa Joe, Kevin Owens, and The Viking Raiders. The fans tell him he sucks but Seth asks them for respect. He says he and his followers have proven that you can achieve whatever you set your mind to if you have belief and devotion. But now the work begins.
He says he does not take the responsibility of Messiah lightly, he takes it very seriously. Phase 2 of the movement won’t be easy but it will be for the greater good. He says phase 2 is to seek out the weak and the non-compliant, the flaws in the system, and attempt to rehabilitate them if possible. Or eradicate them if they must. Seth says this is not a promise, threat, or warning, it comes from his heart. It is the gospel. If there are any WWE Superstars who are not complaint, they will suffer the fate of the weak. If they stand in the way of progress…
The Viking Raiders run to the ring and brawl with Akam and Rezar, meanwhile Rollins retreats with Buddy. Seth tells Murphy to go fight but he too gets beaten down. Seth is yelling on the stage when Kevin Owens appears and gives him a Stunner!
Charly Caruso interviews Seth Rollins backstage and says his sermon didn’t go as planned. Seth says more breaking news from Chuck. He says that his disciples are the only ones who treat him with the respect he deserves, but tonight they’re gonna smite Owens and The Viking Raiders.
AJ Styles makes his return alongside Karl Anderson and Luka Gallows. Styles says he is back on Monday Night Raw and it’s in good time because WrestleMania would be nothing without him. Gallows says AJ is phenomenal when that WrestleMania sign is hanging up there – all three men point at the sign. Anderson says that, as far as they are concerned, he’s the new Mr. WrestleMania.
Styles says that, being the humble person he is, he can agree that he is the best wrestler on any roster. However he actually has some critics that don’t think he’s the greatest of all-time. But when he wins the gauntlet match in Saudi Arabia he’s gonna say “who’s next?” He says he doesn’t care who’s next, it could be Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, Ricochet, The Undertaker, Razor Ramon, Diesel, Sting, Hulk Hogan, or the whole NWO.
Ricochet comes to the ring and Styles tells him to hold on. He says he was joking when he mentioned Ricochet, just being nice. Really, nobody believes Ricochet could ever be WWE Champion. And what has he done to deserve his shot against Brock in the first place. Ricochet says he isn’t mad that AJ thinks he doesn’t deserve it, but the fact is he earned it. And at Super ShowDown he will beat Brock Lesnar and become WWE Champion. He challenges AJ to a match right now but Karl Anderson says he can’t let AJ face Ricochet in his first match back.
The match begins and Anderson kicks the shin of Ricochet, but the one and only quickly comes back and sends him from the ring. Ricochet hits a twisting plancha to Anderson on the oustide as we head to the break.
Back live and Anderson gets rolled-up by Ricochet for a two-count. Anderson catches the high-flyer with a neckbreaker for a two-count, then takes a headlock. During the commercial break, AJ dropped Ricochet with a clothesline, then he and Gallows got ejected from ringside!

Ricochet hits a standing shooting star for a two-count, then heads up top for a 630 but Anderson moves. Anderson catches Ricochet with a spinebuster and gets a near-fall. Ricochet counters Karl and hits a superkick, followed by a fireman’s carry kick for the win.
Charly Caruso is backstage with Liv Morgan. She asks Liv how she feels about what’s happened with Ruby Riott. Liv says she was as excited as anyone to see her friend back from injury and as surprised as everyone else. But Ruby betrayed her and threw her trust to the side. She says having someone you trust so wholly betray you could break you. But she’s not that little puppy dog anymore, she found a home in her own skin. So she’s going to pin Ruby Riott inside Elimination Chamber and go on to WrestleMania.
Owens starts the match against Murphy and immediately beats him down in the corner. Tag to Ivar, who uppercuts Murphy and chops him. Murphy counters a body slam but gets shoulder tackled. Murphy comes in and eats a spinning heel kick. Ivar hits a seated senton to Rezar, cartwheels past Akam, then drops him with a lariat. Erik tags in and hits double knees to Rezar, then throws Ivar into him in the corner.
Kevin Owens tags in and hits a Swanton Bomb for a near-fall. Owens lifts Rezar and looks for a Stunner but Rezar shoves him back and hits a lariat. Murphy tags in but gets caught with a Pop-Up Powerbomb. Akam breaks the pin but the Vikings toss him outside alongside Rezar, then hit stereo suicide dives. Owens then catches Murphy with a Stunner but Seth Rollins appears and beats on Owens!
Akam and Rezar beat on Erik and Ivar on the outside, before joining Murphy and Seth in the ring and beating him down. Seth gets a mic as his followers hold Owens up. He says this is what happens when you stand in the way of progress. He says Owens has crucified him since day one, but now it’s time for them to crucify him.
The Street Profits come running down to make the save, and Dawkins sends Murphy flying on the ramp with a shoulder. Ford hits a spingboard crossbody to Akam, while Dawkins tackles Rezar. They stare down Rollins alongside Erik and Ivar, then Seth high-tails it as Akam and Rezar come back with Murphy. The babyfaces beat the heels down; Owens hits Rezar with a Stunner, while Ford and Ivar hit stereo splashes to Murphy and Akam.
And that’s it for this week’s WWE Raw. Let us know what you thought of the show and come back next on Wednesday night for AEW and NXT live results. Until then, safe travels!
