WWE is always looking to expand their empire. At this rate they will have pro wrestling on every continent soon enough. They really jumped into the UK market in the past few years. Now they are looking to secure even more influence.

The official company line in regards to working with United Kingdom promotions is that they want to help companies that cultivate talent. The reality of the situation could be a bit different.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that in order to work with WWE those indie promotions must first sign a deal stating that WWE has rights to purchase the company at a later date if they so choose.

The reality is WWE is working with companies that have basically agreed to work with WWE and give WWE the rights to purchase those companies if they desire to do so down the line

This situation could find a lot of UK wrestling promotions under WWE’s umbrella soon enough. The idea of UK promotions appearing on an upper tier of the WWE Network also seems incredibly likely.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
