All Elite Wrestling has some big plans for 2020. It appears that one storyline could be a matter of controversy.

We previously reported via Wrestle Votes that AEW was considering introducing a commissioner role. AEW hasn’t used an authority figure role on television yet, so this could be an interesting direction.

It was reported that Taz might be the one to watch for this role. He recently left his radio show and could be open to work for AEW. The Human Suplex Machine is appearing on AEW Dynamite next week in commentary role.

Dave Meltzer reports that AEW has no plans to introduce an authority figure role on television.

Regarding stories that came out like Taz would be introduced as an authority figure, AEW has no plans for a television authority figure.

We’ll have to see how things develop in the weeks to come. It seems like fans shouldn’t get their hopes up about seeing AEW’s take on a pro wrestling authority figure just yet.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
