Impact Wrestling was really saved by their Anthem owners when they bought AXS. Now Impact Wrestling has a television home, but it was already New Japan Pro Wrestling’s station.

Dave Meltzer explained on Wrestling Observer Radio that NJPW very well might be moving away from AXS soon enough. They haven’t been getting any advertising love like they once did. Now it seems like AXS might not be making any plans for New Japan’s biggest show of the year.

“AXS is not the answer. AXS is obviously not going to promote them any longer. I mean I don’t know how long they’ll be on that station, but they’re not going to be heavily promoted for that station. I think we saw that when they didn’t tape the San Jose show. There’s nothing scheduled for the Tokyo Dome show.”

AXS might not be NJPW’s home for very long, but another channel could definitely turn this loss into a big gain. Let’s just see what happens in 2020.
