Marty Scurll is in a very good position right now. He is a free agent, but he has a couple of dates on the calendar.

The Villain shocked fans when he showed up on the NWA’s Into The Fire pay-per-view. Now he is expected to face Nick Aldis at Hard Times on January 24th.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that it doesn’t appear Marty Scurll will be signing a new deal with anyone right away. Right now he is free to work where ever he wants.

He also has another surprise appearance on the calendar that isn’t with either of those companies.

We had heard of at least one more date for a non-NWA or ROH promotion soon, so it doesn’t look like he would be signing here right away, although it is notable that date has not been announced and the parties involved were asked to hold off on it.

Cody Rhodes commented about Marty Scurll’s NWA appearance saying that The Villain is testing the waters. He is in an amazing position right now when the pro wrestling world needs top stars and he could find a place practically anywhere he wants at this point.
