Corey Graves made a comment on Twitter about Mauro Ranallo’s announcing job at NXT TakeOver: WarGames. This was not received very well and ended with Ranallo deactivating his Twitter account.

Mauro Ranallo will also miss this week’s episode of NXT. This is not a good situation and we are hoping for the best.

As After The Bell opened this week, Corey Graves started things out by addressing the elephant in the room. He immediately started discussing Mauro Ranallo and provided an explanation as well as an apology.

“What’s up, everybody? Welcome to After The Bell, I am Corey Graves. A ton to get to this week as we do every week but before we go any further, on a personal note, I needed to address something. This past Saturday, during the ‘Takeover: WarGames’ event, I sent out a tweet. It was an unpopular opinion, as I often do with the intention of just stirring up a little controversy, maybe have something fun to talk about on TV or here on the show.”

“It was maybe not the most professional way to go about things, and it was never meant to offend or disrespect or disparage anybody. That was never my intention. If it was taken as such, I apologize deeply. That was not my intention. I would never intentionally cause anybody undue stress, especially a co-worker. So, I apologize.”

We’ll have to see if Mauro Ranallo will make a return to NXT commentary. Hopefully, Graves also reached out to Ranallo personally, but it was was a good look for him to address this situation so openly to start out his podcast this week.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
