The Wednesday Night Wars officially started last night and both AEW and NXT brought their A-Game. There was a small hint that AEW did very well in the ratings due to the amount of viewers they had on Playstation Vue, but now we have the real numbers.

According to The Wrap, All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite brought in 1.49 million viewers. NXT brought in 891,000. AEW also pulled in 878,000 in the coveted 18-49 demographic while NXT pulled in 414,000.

This is very interesting considering WWE’s reaction to AEW: Dynamite where they openly congratulated them on a successful program.

All Elite Wrestling introduced the world to a new alternative for fans while NXT brought a TakeOver level two-hour broadcast with a 15 minute overrun. Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Live that he was told that NXT will not be doing an overrun after this week.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
