Cain Velasquez earned a lot of attention when he showed off his pro wrestling skills at AAA’s TripleMania event.

While speaking to Ariel Helwani, Cain Velasquez did confirm that he’s spoken to both WWE and AEW. He said that talks with WWE were “going pretty good,” but we’ll just have to see what they might be able to work out.

“We’ve been in talks with [WWE]. They’re going pretty good … We’ll see.”

“I’ve talked to [AEW]. I’ve talked to him a little bit, so I want to talk to him a little more. I think they are doing great things. Now I that I’ve started watching a little more pro wrestling, I think AEW is doing some really cool things. And they have a good relationship with AAA as well, so they have a lot of guys going to AAA, and back to AEW. And AEW too does a lot of like, lucha stuff, you know. They do a lot of lucha wrestling, which I think is pretty cool. I really like what they’re doing as far as the wrestling aspect of it. I think they have really good athletes coming in, really good showmen. They’re making — they’re doing good things right now, yeah.”

When it comes to AEW extending an offer to Cain Velasquez to join them for their October 2nd TNT debut, he stated that they haven’t called him yet. At this point, he still has two more AAA matches left that he has committed to.

“Not yet, because I’m just doing — I can only do these three AAA matches. But yeah, I would love to do more. And with different organizations as well, I would.”

Things could get very interesting if Cain Velasquez becomes part of the WWE Universe. After all, Velasquez was able to hand Brock Lesnar a pretty tough loss in the UFC almost nine years ago.

AEW might also be an excellent pro wrestling home for Cain Velasquez as well. At this point, it really is all up to what he wants to do.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
