Chris Jericho lost his AEW World Title and now he has it back, but the story about the in-between time is getting really interesting.

Tallahassee.com reports that Frank Price of Tallahassee was celebrating his 41st birthday when he happened upon the belt. Price works as assistant director of the Florida Natural Areas Inventory at Florida State University.

When he and his wife looked up the belt on Google, they thought it was close to the genuine article, but it couldn’t be the real thing. Since they saw replicas online, they figured someone lost their fan memorabilia. This was, of course, before the news broke that Y2J’s belt was gone.

“At that time there was nothing in the news about anything being lost or stolen. So we thought it was just a replica or a costume or something like that.”

Since he figured that a fan in the area just lost his belt, he went to the only place he thought of first — Criagslist.

“I found a pro wrestling championship belt on hwy 20 Sunday afternoon,” the ad said. “Contact me with details and you can come get it.”

Yes, he also posed with the title belt and sent pictures out as well. So, this was the real thing, but he thought it was a knock-off.

Imagine his surprise when he discovered that Chris Jericho was looking for a title belt just like the one he happened to find on the side of the road.
