WWE hasn’t historically handed out creative control to many people at all, in fact, it is pretty much non-existent in today’s WWE.

Vince McMahon and his creative team control what goes on during their television shows. Matt Hardy might wish this was different as he spoke to Talk Sport and expressed his desire to run his own creative.

Hardy is currently cutting online promos and he explained his new “You Don’t Know How Hard It Is To Be Matt Hardy” gimmick. No matter how popular those promos get online, the company still hasn’t handed him any creative control to make his own decisions.

“You can take this great scenario you’re in and there’s one or two snags and that’s what people will bitch about and that’s where ‘You Don’t Know How Hard It Is To Be Matt Hardy’ came from,” he said. “I have other things I would be interested in doing. I love giving creative ideas. I wish I could run my own creative, in fact. I feel like that’s part of the fun of being an artist at my age. Even before, I was probably a little less confident in my abilities to change or do something different and pull it off and make people buy into it but now I love it and I welcome the challenge.”

We will have to see if WWE finally lets Matt Hardy portray his new persona on television, but they could be holding out for Jeff Hardy’s return.

Since Matt’s younger brother went out of action with a knee injury it seems to have stifled his push as well. The Hardy Boyz were Tag Team Champions before Jeff’s injury and then Matt disappeared from television along with his brother.
