WWE Superstars often go by their ring names in and out of the squared circle. When they want to be called their real names that can get confusing, especially if your job is to announce them while they make their way to the ring.

Lilian Garcia opened up on her own podcast Chasing Glory about almost accidentally calling Superstars by their real names. Thankfully, she had a giant screen in front of her as a reminder of what to say.

“That happened to me when I started calling people by their real name and I went out there to introduce and all I could think of was their real name. With CM Punk, all I could think was Phil — Phil, oh my god I can’t say Phil and thank god I looked over and the Titantron had ‘CM Punk’ on it really big. From that moment on, anybody introduced to me by their real name I was like, ‘Sorry, gotta keep the ring name.'”

It’s a good thing that Lilian Garcia was able to avoid this mistake because that could have been a very big one to make. It just goes to show that sometimes things can be a little confusing, especially when you know someone by two different names.
