“Stone Cold” Steve Austin knows a thing or two about selling tickets. He wants Seth Rollins to do the same.

If you look at a list of WWE Champions’ rankings according to ticket sales, Austin is on top of the list, but the statistics show that Jinder Mahal was even better champion than Rollins in that regard. This is a problem.

While speaking truthfully on the Steve Austin Show, The Rattlesnake offered some words of advice for The Architect. Their two promo styles do differ greatly because Austin worked in the days before tightly scripted promos, but the emotion could certainly be stepped up a notch.

“Seth’s a tremendous worker and I just think, man, when he turns up that entertainment factor, because he’s pretty reserved on the horn. And, man, if you go back and watch my promos, I mean, I never know what I’m going to say. I mean, I have things because of storylines and that and angles, so I know where I’m going, but I’ll stutter or I’ll miss a word, but it’s all emotion.”

“I think that emotions sell tickets, but also being larger than life sells tickets, so if he could just learn to amp it up a little bit, because every time I had a stick in my hands, I was trying to channel and emit energy and people feed off that.”

Before Seth Rollins defeated Brock Lesnar at Summerslam, he cut a promo on Raw that was less than passionate. He seemed defeated and banged up. That was obviously WWE’s intention, but Steve Austin’s advice might need to sink with those who are coming up with WWE’s storyline.

I love pro wrestling and hate BS. These two things drive me. Years of experience in writing, journalism, and digging exclusive insider info for Ringside News. Worked in finance before realizing pro wrestling journalism made much less sense. Pro beachballs at pro wrestling shows, pro dives if someone catches, anti bullies, olives, and pineapples on pizza.
