AEW Fight For The Fallen was last night and while Joey Janela worked in the ring, the announce team brought up someone getting in a fight with “the scum of the earth” at a Blink-182 concert. In case you’re a little late to the party, they were talking about Janela’s recent experience with Enzo Amore.

We previously reported that this drunken incident took place and NZO even put up some video of it. Needless to say, it wasn’t the most technically skilled fight to ever get recorded and end up online.

While speaking to 1 Wrestling, Joey Janela explained what happened that night as he remembers it.

“It was just a drunken incident. I was a little wasted and just ran into him and we just had an exchange of words over the last year on the internet. …I was like, ‘Hey, alright.’ I was just joking and I said, half way joking, I was like, ‘Hey, you wanna fight?’ And he threw up his fists. That’s it.”

“I was like, ‘Alright, I guess I gotta fight now. We did throw a few hands before the video started and then afterwards we both thought in our heads, “why are we fighting right now?’ Especially I thought, “What am I doing?’”

Janela said there needed to be a cut-off for him because he didn’t want to be someone who got into a drunken fight that ends up on the internet. Unfortunately, it was already too late for that. At least it gave the AEW announce team some current news to bring up on commentary during Fight For The Fallen.
