WWE has made some big creative changes in recent weeks. We won’t be seeing any influence from Eric Bischoff for a few more weeks, but Paul Heyman got the ball rolling in a big way this week with RAW.

Dave Meltzer discussed WWE’s creative change during Wrestling Observer Radio. This is being done because they are afraid of losing that pivotal younger demographic which they fear could be AEW’s for the taking.

“You definitely need the younger audience and the other thing is that fear of AEW getting that younger audience when they get on television. So you know that’s why you’re going to be seeing a lot of moves and obviously the style of the show they did on Monday worked.”

It was also said that although RAW did very well all things considered, SmackDown’s rating was actually down from the previous week making it the 5th lowest Tuesday night SmackDown episode ever.

WWE has a lot of work to do in securing a younger audience. Let’s hope that they are able to do it, but it might not be easy reclaiming the spot as the “cool wrestling company” as they did in the Attitude Era.
