It’s time for WWE SmackDown Live results here at Ringside News. Keep refreshing throughout the night and we’ll kick off at 8:00 PM EST when things get going.

This is the first SmackDown Live since Stomping Grounds, but it seems as if we have a new WWE Title challenger in Samoa Joe after last night’s assault on Kofi Kingston. So you can probably expect for that feud to continue.

Bayley called out lot of people in the SmackDown Women’s Division. So it will be interesting to see who steps up to the Hugger. On that note, Daniel Bryan and Rowan might get new challengers as well.

Also, R-Truth is still WWE 24/7 Champion. You never know when he might come running around. All that and more is expected tonight.

Check back at 8:00 PM EST and we’ll bring you everything you need to know about the broadcast right here at Ringside News.

Shane McMahon cut a promo backstage before the match started where he said that Drew and himself are going to make sure that Roman Reigns is a dead man too at Extreme Rules. Jeez.

Kofi has been through a lot and been through some serious pain, but he’s still the champion. They showed a clip of Joe’s attack from last night and he said the Coquina Clutch is like an anaconda squeezing until it fades to black.

Then Kofi said Joe is like a shark, but he’ll be damned if he gets eaten alive. Dolph Ziggler came out then and said that Joe is taking his spot. Ziggler said it’s not a joke, it’s his livelihood — it’s his everything.

Then Ziggler said if he wins his match tonight then he’ll get in the WWE Title match at Extreme Rules. This was expected. Also, tonight’s match is 2 out of 3 falls.

Elias wouldn’t let The Miz talk to Shane McMahon, but Elias just kept playing. Then Miz said he he keeps playing he’ll shove the guitar up the dark side of his moon. Yeah.

Then Shane came out and booked a match against Miz if he can beat Elias 2 out of 3 falls. So that’s apparently WWE’s new catchphrase.

The New Day (Big E & Xavier Woods) vs Daniel Bryan & Rowan

The New Day started out this match taking damage from Rowan. Woods tried to slow him down, but nothing seemed to work.

It should be noted that they went to commercial, but the wrestling remained in a picture-in-picture screen. Woods did a bunch of selling during the commercials.

Big E took the tag and he turned things around for a bit until Daniel Bryan turned a splash into a LeBelle Lock. Then Xavier Woods broke up the submission.

Woods took out Rowan as Big E hit a urange before they hit a Midnight Hour to win the match.

Winners: The New Day

Before E and Xavier could celebrate, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn attacked them. Then Heavy Machinery ran out to make the save.

Bryan & Rowan, Kevin & Sami vs New Day & Heavy Machinery 8-Man Tag Match

Everyone who was just involved in that chaos have now teamed up with the babyfaces and heels on opposite sides.

After the heels beat down the babyface Tucker, he finally hit Daniel Bryan with a clothesline and got the tag to Otis. Zayn took the tag for the heels and Otis ran roughshod over him for a bit.

Then Otis hit Zayn with a caterpillar before he tagged in Tucker and nailed the compactor for the win.

Winners: Heavy Machinery & New Day

Elias vs The Miz

If Miz wins, then he’ll get to face Shane McMahon. First, it’s a 2 out of 3 falls match with Miz vs Elias and yes, the Drifter played himself to the ring on his electric guitar. Because Bob Dillon went full-heel when he went electric, right?

Shane helped Elias score the first fall with a Drift Away pretty quickly. Then commercial.

When we came back from commercial, Elias kept taking control while The Miz continued to sell. The Miz started to fight back, but he ended up in another headlock.

Suddenly, The Miz came back with a DDT for a two count. The Miz rallied on Elias and took out Shane. Then he landed a Skull Crushing Finale, but Shane jumped in and attacked The Miz which awarded him the second fall via DQ.

Shane didn’t give up and they just manhandled The Miz eventually letting Shane hit him with a spear before starting the third fall. Elias nailed a top rope elbow drop and won the match. Now Miz won’t get to face Shane McMahon.

Winner: Elias

Before they left, Shane nailed The Miz with a Coast To Coast.

Finn Balor cut a promo backstage about Andrade. Then Shinsuke Nakamura walked in and looked at the title before leaving.

Nikki Cross vs Bayley

If Nikki wins then Alexa Bliss gets another shot at Bayley’s title.

Cross really didn’t let Bayley breath throughout much of this match making us wonder who should really be facing Bayley for her title.

Bayley ended up gaining control, but she soon crashed and burned on a dive and then Nikki rolled her up for a couple cradles, but Bayley kicked out. Bayley landed a knee and then Cross pinned Bayley for the win.

Winner: Nikki Cross

R-Truth and Drake Maverick had a great segment backstage that ended with Truth running off with the 24/7 Title and Maverick was still heartbroken.

Ember Moon vs Sonya Deville

Sonya Deville won a very, very short match.

Winner: Sonya Deville

Aleister Black cut a promo about someone picking a fight with him and then suddenly, he heard someone knocking at the door and he smiled. WHO’S AT THE DOOR?!

Kofi Kingston vs Dolph Ziggler

They wrestled around for a while, and then Kofi Kingston got a pinfall on a roll-up pin. This was the first of three falls.

After he lost the first fall, Ziggler destroyed Kofi with a Zig Zag on the outside of the ring.

When we came back from commercial, Dolph nailed Kofi Kingston with a Superkick to get the second pinfall.

Ziggler stayed on Kofi and didn’t give him hardly any room. He soon had a rear chinlock on Kofi complete with a chicken wing. Kingston fought back with some headbutts, but Ziggler really wanted to be in that Extreme Rules match.

Then Kofi was able to create some separation by sending Dolph’s chest into the top turnbuckle. It didn’t work for long and Ziggler nailed a nice standing elbow drop for a two count.

Kofi came back with some double chops and hit a crossbody off the top for a close pin. Then Ziggler nailed a DDT for a two count.

Kofi blocked a Fameasser into a sitdown powerbomb for a two count. Then Ziggler dodged a Trouble In Paradise, sent Kofi into the post, and hit a Zig Zag for a two count.

Kofi cartwheeled out of Superkick and nailed a Trouble In Paradise for the win.

Winner: Kofi Kingston
