The G1 Climax is a very big deal for NJPW. The winner generally ends up headlining the next Wrestle Kingdom show in January. Since this year’s Wrestle Kingdom event will be two nights that makes this year’s round robin tournament so much more important.

Jon Moxley made his intentions known at Dominion that he wants in the G1 Climax tournament this year. The 29th annual tournament will be eventful because the former Lunatic Fringe is now in.

When NJPW made the announcement official that Mox is going to be a part of the G1 Climax the crowd popped big. You can watch in the video below and hear the New Japan crowd’s reaction.

Moxley is obviously over in Japan as he’s not only dominated, but also shown his appreciation for the opportunity to perform in the promotion. That respect goes a long way and Japanese fans love the Death Rider.
