WWE has a long history of producing top Superstars who entertained millions all around the world. However, they might not be getting that many new stars right now.

John Cena realizes this fact, but there’s not much he can do about it while he’s off in Hollywood. However, WWE might be merging into a company without a top star because everyone plays their own part.

During a recent appearance at BookCon, John Cena addressed the issue of WWE not being able to produce another top star in the business.

For the longest time, if you considered WWE a band, there’s been one front person of the band. I think that dynamic is changing. It is because the audience is too diverse. I think older males are watching it, younger kids are watching it, females are watching it. The audience is so diverse, so with a diverse audience it’s tough to universally please someone.

I don’t think there’s a universal figure that will lead the company forward. I think as the company grows, and especially expands globally, you’re gonna have like a ‘Super Friends’ of the WWE. Which is like people who are essentially fighting for equal share of popularity. I think the band, essentially, will have ten lead singers of every different race, creed, color, sex, ethnicity.”

We will have to wait and see where the product goes from here, but it’s pretty hard to ignore the fact that WWE is without an undisputed face of the company. For the longest time you could peg the top WWE Superstar without much debate, but now there are people who could throw out any number of names and they wouldn’t be wrong.

Perhaps Vince McMahon is nervous about putting all of his eggs in one basket. Because he did this with Hulk Hogan and The Rock and John Cena and they all eventually left.

WWE stacking the roster with several Superstars on top is a much better idea when it comes to creating that safety net because you never know what can happen in WWE. However, they must make those big Superstars first which seems to be an issue nowadays as well.
