R-Truth made it all the way to Saudi Arabia, but they didn’t let him work the Super ShowDown. This was a very interesting decision, but WWE apparently had their reasons.

Alexa Bliss and Natalya made the 17 hour trip to Saudi Arabia, but they weren’t allowed to work the event because they’re women. R-Truth made the trip too, but he wasn’t allowed to work the event either. This even included the 50-man battle royal match because he’s the WWE 24/7 Champion.

Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE didn’t let Truth work the 50-man battle royal because everyone would have been trying to pin him during the match. Therefore, it was decided that he just wasn’t allowed to work it at all.

Of course, this could have been easily explained through commentary if they simply said that 24/7 Rules were suspended for the battle royal match. However, WWE decided not to do that and they just didn’t let him work the match.
