Brian Cage felt awful about letting his fans down by getting injured during the Impact Wrestling Rebellion main event. He won the title, but he had to go to the hospital directly after the match.

Lance Storm said on Figure Four Daily that due to Brian Cage’s injury he found himself in the middle of a situation where things needed to be changed very quickly. Because the new champion was injured and was to be the centerpiece of television.

“I’m not part of the creative team, but since I’m tight with Don [Callis] when he brings me in he always ropes me into to sitting and going over through the TVs and stuff. I got in Saturday night and we got through the whole pay-per-view and we ran down the two weeks of TV we would be taping on Monday.”

“The open of the first show of the TV, episode one of what we’re filming on Monday was Brian Cage coming out and talking about being the champ now. At the time, he’s at the hospital and we have no idea if he’s going to be able to walk still and he’s [scheduled to be] wrestling on the show and it’s like ‘We have to re-write everything.'”

Lance Storm said that it was a “hell of a night getting things salvaged.” You can check out the entire Impact Wrestling television taping results and it doesn’t appear as though they relinquished Brian Cage’s title from him. That could be a good sign.

Cage chased the Impact Wrestling Championship for far too long before finally winning at Rebellion. Hopefully, Cage will be able to heal his back up and make a return as champion.
