Ronda Rousey’s first year in WWE is coming to an end. She was a full-time WWE Superstar, but reports are that she is considering taking a hiatus following her second WrestleMania match.

Paul Heyman recently spoke to Sports Media with Richard Deitsch where Ronda Rousey came up in the conversation. He praised Rousey for her dedication to the business and explained how much effort she puts into her promos every week on RAW.

“Ronda Rousey is not a secret. I work with Ronda Rousey on her promos and in an official capacity even and it has been truly a career highlight and a life highlight and a life lesson for me dealing with Ronda on a daily basis.”

“Because Ronda is all in on everything that she does. She dedicates every single part of her being to getting the job done and getting it done better than anybody else that’s ever done it before.”

“So when Ronda does a promo on Monday Night RAW by the example of 9:00 EST on a Monday, when she comes off air by 9:07, 9:08 EST she’s already discussing next week’s promo by 9:15 and by 6:00 AM when she’s on a plane on Tuesday morning she has already sent me 3 or 4 different concepts with 3 or 4 different completely written out promos for the next week saying, ‘What do you think about this? What do you think about this approach? What about this approach? What about that approach? What if we look at it from this perspective — here’s the first paragraph.’ The process begins.”

“It’s a week-long process to get to whatever she is going to say the next Monday night. It is an amazing experience to work with somebody that dedicated to be a historical difference maker.”

Heyman said that he’s been cutting promos for about 35 years and before he event broke in as a talent he was already dabbling in the art. He said that just his experience alone makes him someone to go to for advice. Because he has longevity so he understands why someone would come to him.

Ronda Rousey obviously gets it which makes it even more troubling to think that she might be taking a break from WWE after WrestleMania. Because having someone like her around backstage has to benefit things in ways we’ll never really see on television.
