Mae Young Classic Competitor Mercedes Martinez suffered an injury today in a tag team match at the Shimmer tapings in Berwyn, IL.
The incident occurred when Martinez was tagging with Cheerleader Melissa in a match against DASH Chisako and Hiroyo Matsumoto. Matsumoto powerbomed Melissa on top of Martinez. While DASH was waiting to come off the top with a frog splash, it was obvious Martinez was hurt.
Martinez laid on the mat for about ten minutes while the tapings halted and Martinez was carried out on a stretcher. It’s believe that she suffered bruised ribs and should make a speedy recovery.
